READY: The Gamma Seal lid allows for easy access and storage of dry goods. It features a threaded spin-on/spin-off design that can be easily installed by customers. For shipping efficiency, the Gamma Seal lid may also be pre-installed on the bucket.

IMPORTANT: When installing the threaded ring onto the bucket, a rubber mallet (not included) is recommended for assistance. The ring securely seals to the bucket's rim with an O-ring gasket. The threaded lid then spins on and off, creating a tight seal with another O-ring gasket. To prevent the O-ring from adhering to the plastic sealing surfaces, a food grade silicone lubricant is applied to the gasket. It is important to avoid excessive cleaning that might remove this lubricant, as it could cause the O-ring to stretch and lose its retention to the lid.

ADDITIONAL TIPS: Plastic containers can have slight variations, so it is advisable to leave the lid snug for a period of time. Allowing the various components to adjust and align with each other in a warmer room temperature environment can enhance performance. For long term food and liquid storage, we recommend using a conventional snap-on lid with a gasket to ensure optimal preservation.

CONCLUSION: While we are fans of the convenient Gamma Seal lid, we do not recommend it for long term food storage or liquid applications.
